We're touring (VERY SOON 8-19th Nov) thanks to the ongoing support of The Wellcome Trust who have extended their People's Award to us so that we can continue our enquiry into reaching wider audience demographics with the work, and thanks to the support of IA, our loyal charity partners.
This tour will combine performances in hospitals with performances in educational institutions. Tour producer Tara will be generating a comprehensive learning guide to sharing theatre work in these settings. This guide will be based on The Conker Group's findings from the tour and will be disseminated, but for now, here is where we're going and what sort of venues and audiences we believe we'll encounter...
On 8th Nov we'll be attending NIHR's (National Institute of Health Research) HTC (Healthcare Technology Co-operative) Conference. We'll be sharing excerpts of the show to patients, engineers, consultants, nurses and all other rogues and vagabonds interested in improving healthcare technology. It will take place at the Leeds Armories which we're quite excited about too.
We'll be visiting Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead (9 Nov), Chorley & South Ribble Hospital (10 Nov), Royal Liverpool Hospital (11 Nov), City Hospital Nottingham (12 Nov), John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford (15 Nov), St Mark's Hospital Harrow (16 Nov). We hope to reach patient groups associated with these hospitals but also healthcare professionals, carers and families of sufferers.
Educational Institutions / Other
Where hospitals have been unavailable, but patient groups strong in particular cities, we have selected two colleges and will be inviting students of these colleges (City College Coventry & Regional College Peterborough) to watch and feedback on the work too. In Norwich, IA's patient group were particularly keen to host the work but their local hospital was unavailable. They secured us a room at the local Holiday Inn, where we'll also be staying whilst on tour, which the hotel has supplied at no cost.
